An apple a day keeps the doctor away right?
The same could be said of hundreds of other fruits and vegetables. However, I think because apples are a perfect snack, this one stuck. How can you not like apples? They are the perfect on the go food. They store well. They are rich in vitamins and nutrients. They contain a lot of living water and enzymes. They have a ton of fiber. AND if that wasn’t enough, they come in several different varieties and are available much of the year. Wow.
So what are the best kinds? This is something that you will have to figure out for yourself. Off the top of my head, I can think of granny smith, fuji, gala, red delicious, gold delicious, honeycrisp, macs, etc. Personally, I don’t do well with sour fruits usually. Fuji’s rub me the wrong way also. So that leaves red and gold delicious, galas, honeycrisps, and macs. You gotta take what you can get but stopping by the local farmers market this morning will send you home with some delicious varieties.
So go ahead and eat an apple a day (or 2) for your health. Oh, and most apples taste amazing with freshly ground cinnamon.
