Frozen Peas eh?  What is so special about frozen peas?  Nothing much, I guess.  Peas are just a good old mainstay.  A comfort food.  Starchy enough, but not so starchy as potatoes and heavy squashes.  These little green guys go well with almost anything.  Think mixed vegetables.  In fact, I can’t think of too many things i wouldn’t mix peas with.  They also provide a healthy staple that can be stored long-term in the freezer.  I am all for healthy, fresh eating.  I am also for not being so strict with your diet that you can’t come home after a long day and pop some frozen veggies in the steamer so you don’t have to cook dinner.  Of course there are other good options here as well but peas cook very quickly, are easy, require no chopping, and almost no cleanup.  What are the benefits of peas?  According to “worlds healthiest foods” list, peas contain at least 20% of the daily intake for many vitamins and minerals.  These include folate, vitamin A, vitamin B1, fiber, manganese, vitamin C, and vitamin K.  It includes lesser amounts of many other nutrients.  Frozen food maintains its life energy as long as it has been stored properly.  So stock up on some peas guys.
